Our Story

Gary is a Southern man who has always had a passion for cooking. Whether it was preparing meals from scratch or smoking barbecue favorites like chicken, ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and more, cooking has always been a way to bring family and friends together.

For years, Gary had a favorite barbecue sauce served at a local restaurant. He loved its rich, bold flavor and made sure to enjoy it whenever he had the chance. When the restaurant eventually closed its doors, that unforgettable sauce disappeared with it.

Determined to recreate the bold flavor he had come to love, Gary began experimenting in his own kitchen. Through years of trial and error, he carefully refined his recipe, sharing each new batch with family and friends along the way.

As the compliments kept coming, one question was asked repeatedly: "Why aren't you selling this?"

That's when Gary and his son, Zack, decided to turn a family passion into a family business. Together, they continued perfecting the recipe, built the Smith & Son's brand, and created a barbecue sauce they are proud to share with others.
